AI Ethics Policy

The Journal of Humanity & Social Justice upholds the integrity of academic publishing and recognizes the growing presence of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in research and scholarly writing. To ensure transparency, accountability, and the ethical use of AI tools, the following policy applies:

Authorship Responsibility

The use of GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Claude, and similar technologies) is permitted only as a supportive instrument in the writing process, such as improving language quality, suggesting structure, or assisting with literature searches.

GenAI tools may not be listed as authors under any circumstances. Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript.

Disclosure Requirement

Authors must disclose the use of GenAI tools in their manuscripts, clearly specifying how and to what extent these tools were used (e.g., language editing, idea generation, data organization, or summarization).

This disclosure should be stated in the acknowledgments section or in a separate dedicated section within the manuscript.

Originality and Academic Integrity

Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, validity, and ethical integrity of any content generated or modified with the assistance of GenAI tools.

Any form of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation involving AI-generated content will be treated as academic misconduct in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.

Peer Review and Editorial Decision

Editors and reviewers may use AI tools in a limited, responsible, and transparent manner (for example, to assist with language clarity or identify potential gaps in the manuscript).

However, all editorial decisions are based solely on human judgment, academic standards, and established ethical guidelines. Responsibility for final decisions rests entirely with the editorial board.
